What Specialists Do

Each session is led by two specialists who bring structure, encouragement, and individualized support to every student.

Frontload & Prime – Coach students to reduce anxiety by preparing for the days and week ahead

Organize & Prioritize – Guide students in mapping assignments using Activ8’s Assignment Tracker and calendar tools

Chunk & Plan – Teach how to break down large projects into clear, manageable steps

Balance & Manage – Support healthy routines that align academics, athletics, and personal goals

Coach & Equip – Strengthen study skills, note-taking, and advocacy techniques to build independence

What Students Learn

Through consistent coaching and guided practice twice a week, students will:

Work Strategically – Manage projects efficiently with focus and clarity

MEET OUR TEAM

Erica Ireta

Erica graduated from UC Irvine with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences and a Minor in Psychology. Zot Zot Zot! She has several years of experience as a math and science tutor for elementary to high school students.

Erica has a strong passion for helping students achieve their academic goals and enjoys being a member of the Activ8 team! When she’s not tutoring you can find her working at a surgery center, teaching cheerleading routines to youth and high school programs, or catching sunsets at the beach!

Devin Kisiel

Devin has a diverse background supporting children and teens as they develop executive functioning, emotional regulation, and self-leadership skills. His experience includes work in a private neurocenter, a therapeutic boarding environment, and one-on-one private practice, where he’s helped students overcome cognitive and emotional challenges through structured, evidence-based support.

He’s passionate about helping students grow not only academically but personally through fostering confidence, resilience, and independence along the way. Outside of work, you can find him playing volleyball or football with friends, or pursuing his pilot’s license as he takes on new challenges with the same growth mindset he encourages in others!
