TUTORING
Private tutoring allows students to go at their own pace in a truly personalized environment. Our customized scheduling makes it possible to take family vacations, sleep in, and catch up for the Fall semester. $90/hour
MATH FOUNDATIONS
GRADES K-12
Math is the most sought-after subject at Activ8. Our Math Foundations summer program provides custom instruction, designed specifically for your child. Our team will assess your child’s current skill level and design a curriculum just for them. Your child’s progress determines the pace. Content includes beginning math through AP.
BUILDING STRONG READERS
READING REMEDIATION
GRADES K-12
Reading ability: the number one indicator of future academic success. Activ8’s literacy instructors are trained to inspire all types of readers: dyslexic readers, children with eye-tracking challenges, gifted and talented readers and reluctant readers. Activ8 offers a comprehensive summer reading program that includes reading, writing and comprehension. Our reading specialists are experts in dyslexia, auditory and visual processing, speech deficits and other learning differences. Students receive a giant boost in their weakest areas! This intensive program features the multi-sensory, phonemic Orton-Gillingham approach, which can produce dramatic results.
SUMMER WRITING LAB
GRADES K-12
Our Summer Writing Lab gives your child individualized instruction on core writing skills, allowing the freedom to write about topics of interest. Non-fiction work can include research papers, persuasive essays or informative essays. Fiction work can employ a variety of genres, including mystery, science fiction, and poetry. Our instructors are trained to work with early writing through advanced high school students. They support writers who face challenges such as dyslexia, dysgraphia and ADHD.
TEST PREP
For better or for worse, the SAT and ACT are real—and they’re coming. Sophomores, juniors, and seniors can prep for the SAT or ACT with Activ8. With our one-on-one tutoring, students realize dramatic score increases! We start with an assessment test and customize instruction. Every 10 sessions, we administer a progress assessment. This way, Activ8 continues to tailor the program to critical areas of need. Unlike other “solutions” that use a generic test prep curriculum, Activ8 is committed to authentic, ongoing customization. We recommend a minimum of 10 sessions in order to see a boost in test scores.
READINESS PROGRAM:
PRAGMATICS, SOCIAL SKILLS AND EXECUTIVE FUNCTIONING
GRADES K-6
This program will teach students the skills for success with real world application of these ideas. We teach students to achieve their goals, whether they be academic or social skills and provide critical support for learning and development. We will cover zones of regulation to foster self-regulation and emotional control. These classes help: Social skills, focus, planning, organization, cognitive flexibility, time control, language development, executive functioning skills. We are also able to add this in 30 minute increments to any regular academic-based tutoring session.

Is your child lacking the time management, organization and/or study skills to set them up for success? Activ8 tutors are dedicated to helping students with complicated learning profiles excel in their academic and personal lives through the formation of positive habits and development of lifelong organizational skills.
Our tutors help develop organizational skills for life, beginning with interventions for elementary school through high school. We approach our work from the developmental perspective offering customized, individualized sessions based on each client’s specific needs and developmental stage. Our tutors' goals are to provide immediate, customized interventions targeting and expanding existing Executive Functioning skills and to develop a significant, positive shift in habits toward sustainable, ongoing improvement of Executive Functioning.
KINDERGARTEN READINESS
Ages 5 and 6 Assessment: $150 | Readiness sessions $90/hour
After completing a one-hour kindergarten readiness assessment, our tutors will determine areas that need improvement and create a custom learning plan based on your child's needs. We will spend the summer preparing your child to be confident and "seat ready" for the big first day.
